I was wearing my I Run for Meg shirt this morning for the Patrick Henry half, and just as we arrived near the start a police officer approached me. He introduced himself as Scott and thanked me for wearing my shirt. I was completely overwhelmed and although I told him how grateful I was to meet him, all the words Id imagined I might say in such a moment failed me. I wanted to thank him for his strength and the grace hes shown to this group of Megs Milers. I wanted to let him know that while I never knew Meg while she was on earth, I feel her beautiful spirit running beside me and motivating me. And I wanted to let him know that when I run I think of not only my family and beautiful children, but his and Megs as well. When we parted ways my husband squeezed my hand and simply said, its going to be a good race. And it was. Blessings to you all.
