I was wondering if anyone has ever tried something like this. It is a two stage rocket with a single central rocket that I call the mother ship and three second stage rockets that will slide off the mother ship. The second stage rockets have tube fins with one tube fin that slides over the mother ship. The second stage rockets will need to have a slip off connector up at the nose cone to hold them all together during first stage boost. I figured the mother ship will have a 2.6 inch airframe and the second stages will have a 3.0 inch coupler tube for fins. That will give them a fairly close fit and should slide off without any problems. I was thinking of using 3 inch long tube fins on two sides and a 1 inch tube fin on the the connecting side so they can be staggered to stack one on top of the other. The launch rail guide would need to be on one of the second stage rockets because they couldnt go on the mother ship because of staging. I was thinking of a central 54 mm motor and three 38 mm for second stages.
