I wasnt going to post about the Abby J/ Chris R incident, but tonight I decided, Hey, why not?... So I am throwing in my 2 cents for those who care. 1) Abby is Catholic and was admitting to what the Catholic Church teaches. I commend her for being honest in stating her belief in the video. 2) Abolitionists have cameras/GoPros. If the PLM hasnt figured out by now that there are Abolitionists everywhere and they are probably going to be filming any and all events that they attend, then Im not sure what to tell ya. 3) Abby was not attacked as she publicly stated. That is obvious by the evidence presented. In fact, she appears to be the aggressor in the video and encourages others to attack Chris as well. They all, at minimum, should apologize to Mr. Rush. 4) I do not think Chris handled the situation perfectly, but I also do not think I would have done much better. I probably would have let out a curse word or two as well. (I mean, dang! For real.) 5) Chris and Abby were talking of their own free will with one another. She even acknowledged that she recognized Chris from FB and AHA. And she still spoke with him. Which is cool beans. And he recorded it. Which is even cooler beans. What is not cool beans is the attack that ensued and the outright tall fibs Ms. Johnson began to spread thereafter. 6) I do not know Chris Rush personally, nor have I met Abby in person. My opinion is based on what I have seen and what I have previously witnessed of both of them. I try to look at disputes objectively. I do not side with AHA just because I am an Abolitionist. At times, there have been others who have legit and valid points I agree with that are not AHA supporters. (Egad! Shoot me now. I might actually like a Jon Speed or Bryan Kemper post once in a while. GASP!!) So if I really thought Abby was right, I would say so. That being said, I stand with the man who was in his legal right to speak and record, who had a right to defend himself, who was unnecessarily cuffed, and who had the best zingers and the most guts of the night.
