I wasn’t going to as I reckon everyone has probably had enough - TopicsExpress

I wasn’t going to as I reckon everyone has probably had enough by now, but I thought I was kinda obliged to give a wee evaluation on what I think about the Referendum result. Yesterday was a weird, tired, sad, disappointing and confusing day to say the least for many of us, especially in my home town of Dundee where the majority voted to try and change the state of the unacceptable system we live in presently by becoming Independent. Although with many risks involved - including firestarters at the DISC :P , we stood up and were counted – letting everyone know we don’t accept the state of our country and the way it is run. On the other hand I suppose it was a happy day for those who voted No – they voted to stay together to try and change things together - stood up and were counted saying they dont like the risks and they’ll stick with Westminster but are not happy either and they too oppose the status quo. So lets see. I’m not gonna bang on about devolved power timetables for Scotland or the hopes, promises and reassurances that the Better Together campaign gave yet. It’s far too early to say how things are gonna pan out. I just hope that those who have campaigned and voted No do their best in pushing forward to deliver what has been promised to them and everyone else. The onus is on everone to make a change, but most of the onus is now on the Unionists to work and prove that we really are Better Together – especially with the ever increasing political awareness of the public the Referendum has born - and the fact 45% voted against the Union. It’s tough just now for those of us who believed that becoming Independent would have truly been for the best – but so many positives have come out of this Referendum. Some of the movements and people I have followed and met during the past few years have been absolutely amazing – creative, informative, positive, visionary, awakening and totally inspiring! All are still talking about planning and moving forward even after the defeat so please try not to get too disheartened folks. That kind of spirit is never going to die overnight. I’m still positive that the Referendum was only the beginning of a new era of modern enlightenment for everyone - and things are gonna change one way or another ! :)
