I wasn’t sure I could handle the stress of making another decision. A family friend in her early twenties was looking to move out of her apartment and into a less expensive living situation. We adore this young lady. She’s lovely and no trouble at all. But when she asked to move in with us, I felt conflicted. I knew I was going to need to take myself through a process of evaluating this decision, and my evaluation would have to be a consideration of my resources. If I spend resources I don’t have, I’ll eventually bankrupt myself. So I asked, “Do I have the resources to handle this request physically, financially, spiritually, and emotionally?” Though my heart said yes… the reality of my resources made this a no.
