I watched Bob Layton the other night it was about speeding through construction zones. He was basically backing the government ads you see on tv. I dont know where Bob Layton and our government officials drive or where there getting their stats, maybe its in these marked construction zones that nobody is working. I do lots of driving and what I see out there is most people actually slow down more than the posted speed while passing workers but dont slow until they are close to actual construction site. When you come across road repair crews sometimes you can drive 20km before you come across where they are actually working. Some crews put up signs that state a speed limit when passing workers this should be law on all construction sites that are not stationary and move as they do there work. Some times its a pipeline crossing and there maybe no one working in this areas for days so why are not these signs covered up when not in use. Its time our governments and media sources quit feeding us a bunch of bull just to justify the point they want to get across. If they want our roads to be safer why wait till it absolutely needs to be done to add extra lanes OR do the improvements that should have been done long ago. Example of this is Hwy 881 why wasnt there passing lanes put in while the road was being built, anyone that has travelled that road knows exactly what I mean. Its just another case of our PC Governments foresight into the future.
