Emma Thompson and Tom Hanks are wonderful portraying the author of MARY POPPINS and Walt Disney who desperately wants to turn the book into a film. There are plenty of laughs in their crusty interplay, but Mrs. Traverss back story and the emotional pain she endured to create Mary Poppins added a level that I didnt expect. When the viewer finally understands the meaning of the title SAVING MR. BANKS, it really resonates.
