I watched The Great Gatsby last night and for some reason I was under the impression that it was a comedy. Nope! (Spoilers alert!) It was interesting to see how much Gatsby unraveled throughout the film because of his love for Daisy--his hope that he could fix things between them and get things back to the way they used to be. I think I cried when Myrtles husband shot Gatsby in the end... I was hoping that Daisy and Gatsby would end up together, Tom would get what he deserved (a taxi to the face) and Nick would... I dont know, have a happy ending of his own--which doesnt necessarily mean I was hoping he would find a girl, settle down, have seven kids and live out the rest of his life in bliss. Any sort of happy ending: living next door to Daisy and Gatsby, ascending in life, writing a couple of best sellers--well, you know! A peaceful ending. This doesnt mean I dont like the ending to The Great Gatsby, it was such a wondering movie and the ending did finish it nicely, but I would of been happy either way. ~ The Demon Hidden Within The Angel
