I watched The Voice last night because an old UniSA colleague of mine (Peter White) auditioned for the show. Im not a huge fan of these reality tv shows but in Peters performance and the video leading up to his performance what I saw was a guy trying to make his dreams come true (the best way he knows how). And for anyone who has the courage to pursue their dreams, I deeply admire and respect them for having a go. And just because I am on a different path to those who audition for reality TV shows doesnt mean I dont respect their journey. There is no right or wrong path in life, we basically do what we feel is best for us (as individuals). At the end of the day you have to ask yourself why it is you are pursuing your goal (dream). If you want to be rich and famous, you may be disappointed if it doesnt work out but if you are doing it for happiness then you cant possibly lose.
