I watched X-Men: Days of Future Past last night, with the North - TopicsExpress

I watched X-Men: Days of Future Past last night, with the North Branford Business Handling Society (Patrick Deegan, Esq and Jonathan Carafeno). 1. I enjoyed how they used bits and pieces of the original story, especially the bits they DIDNT use in X-MEN. 2. It was just a good movie. It had a story, it had a cast, it had an ending that could be opened later or left alone. 3. It may well be Halle Berrys best work since Monsters Ball. She had four lines. She delivered them well. BUT when it came time to be Storm, not Ororo, she was visibly more comfortable. It helped. 4. Not to spoil the plot, but I dont think anyone mentioned Dinklages lack of stature...which is good, because thatd be even worse than my continuous pissing and moaning about being too tall/big for this world. 5. Sentinels. Interesting. Did NOT see how they handled certain details. 6. I forgot Evan Peters, one of my favorite young actors, was in this. He played Quicksilver. Between his performance, and the effects, his screen time was just about perfect. 7. No shade on Rebecca Romijn-Stamos-OConnell-Slosser-Adams, but Jennifer Lawrence was really, really good as Mystique. 8. It tied up the continuity, even the abominable continuity, and thats something I value. Rebooting superhero franchises is tricky work...so they didnt bother. 9. I would like to apologize to the children sitting behind us, whom I told to go home ashamed, but if youre going to prattle about X-stuff throughout the film, YOU OUGHT TO KNOW WHO THAT WAS IN THE AFTER CREDITS SCENE. (Its not as bad as the Avengers one, Jer. Deegs and Money will agree. I am softening up, in my old age.) 10. Good movie. Had fun. Liked a lot of what I didnt know, found great joy in what I expected, and its always nice to see Stewart and McKellen anyway.
