I watched a 2 hour documentary last night about Irish emigration, on youtube, called OUT OF IRELAND. Outstanding and highly recommended. Those of you who have known me for a while know of my passion for Ireland, and that I have gone there three times, each time including a visit to Kilkelly, Urlaur and Aghamor, the places where the Hunt Family lived, ancestors to my friends GInny (RIP) Jones, her sons Peter Jonesand Steve Jones,. Peter wrote this now classic masterpiece after finding old letters in a grandfather-to the nth degrees attic on Boston, and he and Steve first recorded it on their CLOUDS album a long time ago. I first heard the song at a Fast Folk Revue sung perfectly by Nikki Matheson and Richard Meyer.
