I watched inside story on Al Jazeera Today where the purported failed ceasefire agreement between Nigerian government and Boko haram was the topic. Three persons,Mike Ejiofor,a former Director of State Security Service (SSS) from Abuja,Aliyu Musa,a researcher on war and Conflict Resolution from Birmingham and Makmid Kamara,Nigerias representative to Amnesty international were subjected to interview on Boko Haram, capture of towns in the North East Nigeria etc. While Makmid Kamara and Aliyu Musa were trying to state the true position of situation in Nigeria,Mike Ejiofor was lonely trying to defend the government. He started by saying that the Nigerian government negotiated with one faction of Boko Haram. He said Boko haram has up to three different factions. he also said that the reports that the Nigerian army abandoned their posts in Mubi and ran away was purely a fabrication from the media and have no iota of truth. When it was pointed out to him that some officers who are involved had been arrested,he got discombobulated and dumbfounded. I am becoming very embarrassed by the way this government is exposing Nigeria for public international ridicule. The way Aljazeera showed President Jonathan collecting PDP nomination form smilling broadly and their closing remark rankled and left no one in doubt that the international community considers this government clueless and bereft of developmental innovative ideas.
