I watched the Presidents speech last night...I wanted to be - TopicsExpress

I watched the Presidents speech last night...I wanted to be informed. In the first four minutes he had lied at least 4 times, blatant lies...lies to the extent that it seems he thinks the American people are stupid. Ill be honest, by the end of it all what I mostly kept thinking was...if he lied so blatantly in the beginning of his speech...how much of the rest of it (what he was saying this executive order is suppose to do) is going to be like the if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor...if you like your insurance, you can keep your insurance? The level of trust and the level of being able to think that this President has the best interests of the American people for me is pretty much at a zero level on the scale to which I cant believe a word that comes from any part of this Administration, let alone the President himself. I am all for immigration...if they come to this country legally they should be welcomed...as long as they are willing to uphold the laws of the land, have allegiance for our country, learn our language, and take the steps to become American citizens...if they are coming here to merely change this nation into what they were leaving behind, its a deal breaker...if they are coming here to wreak havoc and commit lawless acts, its a deal breaker (and breaking the first law by not coming here legally is a deal breaker)...however, if they want to come here to make a better life for themselves, to follow the rules, to work together to protect our freedoms, to live in peace, and become citizens then they should be welcomed. Again what I saw and heard most from this President was his trying to pit people against each other and not bring them together. He seems to have a them against me attitude...well, when you become a tyrant and try to dictate changing laws to your ideals in defiance of congress, and in defiance of the American people, and doing so in such a lawless way then that attitude only increases the distrust between yourself and those who have differing opinions and ideals. Lets look at the real reason for this soon to be executive order at this particular time...the people, tired of this Presidents lies, rhetoric, and defiance against them, spoke loudly in November...and this is his way to try to punish the American people by not protecting the people who voiced a descending opinion that is in opposition to his own views (nothing that is new coming from this President). This President has repeatedly tried to increase conflict, not protect the people, not protect the Constitution, nor to protect this nation... what he has tried to continually do is to weaken our countrys defenses, destroy our Constitution, reject our laws, reject the branches of government, pit the people against each other (not just separating Democrats from Republicans, but also races, gender, and age groups, as well as economic groups), limit our freedoms, and weaken our economy as well as our position in the world. These are acts which are usually done by an enemy, not a President and his administration. Would I trust an enemy to tell the truth? The answer is no. If this President doesnt want to be seen as an enemy of the people, he needs to stop doing the things an enemy of the people would do...its that plain and simple. Why should we the people trust you to know who it is that is crossing our borders that will uphold our laws (when they have already broken the law by the way they have crossed our borders) from those who will not, when you Mr. President dont even uphold our own laws? Why should we the people believe you have the best interest of the American people at heart when you repeatedly and aggressively prove the opposite, and in fact...try to punish we the people at every opportunity that you can find?
