I watched the film The Equaliser on the plane yesterday. Denzel Washington superb as always. Just one thing: the script included the word f*** rather too frequently. The words of a corrupt policeman in the pay of the Russian mafia included the following erudite expostulations: Go f*** yourself, you know that? You are such a f***! Go f*** yourself you f***ing motherf***er. and : You are so f***ing nuts - f***! and F*** yourself. You have f***ed me so f***ing bad. You f***ing did this to me you motherf***er. and F*** you, motherf***er. I got f***ing nothing. I am a f***ing dead man. I wont last a f***ing week. Etc. etc. By the way, this was a fraction of the number of times the word f*** was used. Now, I am no stranger to swearing. I was not shocked by this - I am a musician, after all.... I was merely embarrassed by the lack of imagination in the script. And then, .....then.... it turns out that the director of the film is none other than Antoine Fuqua. LOL. Not only that, but the screenplay writer is Richard Wenk...... Is it me?
