I watched this hearing (*sarcasm*) and felt like throwing my computer through the window. A travesty of justice is just too polite for what took place. The Gold Star families were not allowed to speak; the written questions they submitted may or may not have been asked. One Democrat was eager for the hearing to dispel the myths about Extortion 17 and the panel from the DOD were mainly from the how the remains were handled branch and not the tactical military. Both Dems and GOP drooled over the great job the panel had done (even though one member was not part of the DOD when Extortion 17 crashed and our heroes were killed). ONE GOP member at least showed outrage at an undisclosed mess in Arlington cemetery and hoped it was cleaned up. Excuses were made for why there was no pre-assault fire when the CH47 came in because it would take away from the element of surprise--WTF! A 3-hour fire fight was going on; black hawks were available because those pilots saw the RPG shoot down Extortion 17. There was no way the Afghanis compromised the mission (nearly threw up at that one--active military complain about how they cant trust our partners and how many Afghanis have killed the Americans that trained them). The biggest outrage to me was when a panel member who admitted he did not speak Arabic said that it was not an imam praying a curse over the Americans, it was an Afghani ranking officer reading verses from the Quran to honor all the fallen and the translation was misunderstood (go to YouTube and look for Extortion 17 ramp ceremony and see the English translation, done by Brigitte Gabriel, an expert from the Middle East, as Americans were declared unequal to Muslim fighters and cursed them to hell!!!). Jason Chaffetz, cry all you want--this was worse than a dog and pony show. It was indescribably desecrating to the memory of our heroes and an insult to the Gold Star families. All my heart and love and prayers go out to Billy and Karen Vaughn and to Stephanie and Charles Strange and to Mr. and Mrs. Hamburger--all of whom were present. I wish I could hug all of you and tell you how much REAL AMERICANS LOVE AND RESPECT AND WILL STAND UP FOR YOU! I have to quit typing now because my remaining words would be indelicate and vile and aimed at every member of Congress in that hearing and those liars on the panel. Hell does not burn hot enough for the trash representing our government today.
