I watched this interview this morning and couldnt believe the bullshit divisive argument that Huckabee was still trying to sell us. Its like hes still wearing Members Only jackets and listening to Memorex mix tapes. My friend Dan Bridges put it best: You use the micro argument in a macro world. Id much prefer a truck driver to stop if I had a problem with my car. BUT if I am trying to build a car manufacturing plant that uses renewable energy and minimizes the environmental impact of that kind of plant then give me a civil engineer, MBA, Scientist, or Economist rather than a Bubba any day. Ill add this: In a world where social media exists, the boundaries Huckabee claims are stark and massive are going to exist in smaller and smaller numbers every year. Im wondering how long Republicans are going to push this narrative of two Americas. I wonder how long theyre going to keep insisting we live in a world where everyone who doesnt live in New York or LA is as racist and reactionary as they are.
