I watched this video earlier today and it really disturbed me. Members of an all-white police department in a Texas town pulled over the wrong car and terrified an African American mother and her four small children, threatening them with lethal force. It was an idiotic mistake on the part of law enforcement - since this mother had done nothing wrong at all. But apparently, she was guilty of driving while black (D.W.B.). And can you believe that the police demanded that her six-year old boy exit the car too, all by himself? Watch him as he walks towards the cops with his hands high in the air, and try to imagine the fear that he must have been experiencing at that moment. I saw the mother being interviewed today on MSNBC and she says that her kids are still traumatized by what happened to them. And the cops claim that they were following proper procedure. But if that is indeed the case, then their damn procedures need to change.
