I weep for Nigeria Jesus wept for the city of Jerusalem. He knew - TopicsExpress

I weep for Nigeria Jesus wept for the city of Jerusalem. He knew the temple would be destroyed and the canticles silenced. Today in the shadow of an Ebola epidemic, I weep for Nigeria. Dying is not such a dreadful thing when you know what needed to be done was done. It is the lack of preparation that leaves me dazed. In my nation life comes cheap. 200 Chibok girls were abducted and are still in the forest after 100days. It took one month for our president to set up a committee to verify the abduction took place. After three months our president decides to shut the poverty stricken parents up with a hundred thousand naira gift. In the face of the worst Ebola epidemic of all times our nation is most unprepared. Our predator politicians will keep focusing on the elections of 2015 till their mothers die the death of fools. Somebody should tell me when the Ebola committees will be set up? As is usual with this government we will need a committee to tour all the states before advicing government on the desirability to take steps to prevent or contain an outbreak. We will need another team to advise government on the desirability of creating and equipping isolation centres in every state and another team to sing the praises of his Excellency for promptly setting up these committees. I cannot sing their praises. They have not done well. I live in a state which has no centre capable of diagnosing Ebola. Where there is no information for the public on what to do. I pray this Ebola should not come lest the comatose state of our health care would be exposed and our country thoroughly disgraced.
