I welcome the apology by Isetan management and their assurance that they adopt an anti-disrimination policy. However, Isetan management still needs to clarify the basis of the decision made by the ground managers to disallow the affected sales promoter from working. Did the ground manager made the decision based on companys policy or due their personal biases? The public has the perception that the promoter was disallowed from perfoming her job because she was donning the muslim head gear or tudung. Isetan must state explicitly what is the companys policy with regard to the uniform of its staff or promoter working for them.
