I went and visited the village and talk with the headman Somsak yesterday to learn more about the transportation Chiang Mai - Doi Inthanon National Park. This is nothing like the daily tour. They want to offer Karen hill tribe daily experiences such as farming, coffee roasting and harvesting, hikes and treks in the forest, herb and medicinal plant harvesting along with Karen culture and village history. Several international schools from Bangkok visit the village every year to learn and experience Karen life for a couple of days doing home stays hiking and working in the fields. Some of the money from renting the bungalows and tents goes toward the village school lunch program. I talked with one of the guides and his English was very good. he said there are 3 more guides but they were working in the rice fields as it was planting time. I took this video below
