I went to a Catholic funeral yesterday and prior to Communion the Priest mentioned that if youre not Catholic you cant receive communion but he then went on and invited and welcomed all Catholics to come forward and receive communion. Wouldnt you think that he would know that only those in a state of grace are allowed to receive Communion? I found the funeral to be rather worldly and lacking in spirituality. Ive never been to a Orthodox funeral but I doubt Id see or experience what took place yesterday. Little wonder I prefer the Traditional Latin Mass or the Eastern Rite Mass in comparison to the worldly novelties of the New Mass and the so called Priests that administer them. If youre Orthodox feel blessed you dont have to endure this trash week in week out at Catholic parishes.
