I went to a Direct Democracy meeting last night. It is a very interesting system and well worth further study. One of the things I liked is that it is an open all party/no party system and the power is with the people who elect the politicians. Under this system you could have the same politicians in power ( if you wanted to elect them ) but if they did not do what they promised they would they could be recalled and replaced. It is a new idea for Ireland and the way to go in the future, I think. In the short term it will face a battle to get established and get the message out there.
