I went to a talk about Fracking as I was not really sure what it - TopicsExpress

I went to a talk about Fracking as I was not really sure what it involved and how it would affect things in my area. The talk opened my eyes to what damage this could do to our beautiful country if we allow this to take place. 64% of the UK has been earmarked for Fracking sites. We may be told that Fracking will create new jobs, save money on energy bills etc but this does not seem to be the case and the dangers of doing it far outway any benefit as far as I can see. My questions are; would you be happy to have big holes in the landscape in the area you live? Would you be happy to live nearby when Methane could be leaking into the air? Would you be happy if your water supply was limited due to the water being needed for Fracking? Where will the contaminated water be stored after? Would you be happy if this caused mini earthquakes in the area you live? We dont know enough about the damage this could cause and are carrying on regardless as we are being told it will be good for the UK. I can see nothing good about it and quite honestly am saddened by it. Rant over now but please take a look at the evidence out there and make your own decision. frackfreesurrey/
