I went to hospital to pick up a patient this morning. I was looking for main entrance to locate a patient. I approached the front desk receptionist and write down on a note telling that I am here to pick up a patient, stating the name. Then the lady looked it up on her computer and then speak to me. I repeat gestured to her and pointing to the paper then I wrote, I am sorry I cannot read the lip-read. Please write down. However the receptionist lady apparently in 60s continued speaking and pointing toward somewhere but I told her I do not know exactly where she is pointing because it can be right or left or what. I once again repeating asked politely, Please write down the direction on a note the direction. She, for third time was still stubbornly talking to me and pointing without writing down anything that got on my frustration, and then she come around of her desk and walk me toward to the location. I wondered why not can she write it, simple as that instead of walking me over there which is embarrassing for me. I understand that people do not recognized that deaf people like to be independently doing the things as normal way as possible. Oh well..
