I went to see Tony DImperio Friday. I went with a gift and card and thought I would have a few laughs with him and a cocktail. I teared up as I approached the door knowing how much heart and soul he put in the place for so many years. I was so pleasantly surprised when I walked in. The bar was filled (it was 2:30) and so was the dining room. People were waiting in the lobby to be seated. It reminded me of the old days there when the place was bustling. We talked briefly because he said he literally had a minute to spend with me. He said that since the article came out that he was closing he was booked solid and sold out each day. He said had he know that, he would have said he was closing every few months lol! Wishing him all the best.
