I went to the MIlwaukee Bucks open house for fans tonight, and met General Manager John Hammond. They have a troubled player named Larry Sanders who is a mess on and off the field and whose tweets wade into racial territory with little understanding and less maturity. So I said to John Hammond, tell Larry Sanders theres one guy who has his back. He has the germ of a good idea, the undeveloped seed, but he presents it like a punk. He needs to get down deeply into the ideas and examples of Bill Russell, Kareem Jabbar, Jesse Owens, Muhammad Ali, Nelson Mandela, Malcolm X, and Dr. King, and develop some profound insights for today and come out here and express them with great dignity to benefit Milwaukee. John Hammond was staring at me with a glazed look. Moments later, I was walking to my car thinking Im a lunatic.
