I will also be showing you what a well stocked first aid kit would look like. I am assembling kits and people who wish to can order one for themselves. For those attending the class if they want one (no pressure to buy one at all!), they will get it at a special price of $99, whereas in the clinic once assembled it would cost $120. Here is a list of what will be in the kit: cast padding, telfa pads, gloves, bandage scissors, 1 inch tape, 1/2 inch tape, elastikon tape, vetwrap (three rolls), sterile saline wound flush, chlorhexidine antiseptic, cling gauze, charcoal Toxiban for treating toxins, benadryl, 3X3 gauze sponges, thermometer, thermometer probe covers, and a torniquet. It really does contain everything you need to handle minor emergencies yourself. We will be talking about what you would use each item for and will demonstrate a splint you can make using this kit. It is an investment, but once you have one, you can rest assured you are ready both with supplies and with knowledge to handle lifes little emergencies. You can at least stabilize your dog or cat as best as possible before you can get it in to see your veterinarian. Let me know if you want one...if you pre-order I can bring your kit to class, otherwise I will just be taking orders for them from anyone who may want one...and again, these are only meant to be helpful, there is NO pressure to purchase one. Just coming to the class is going to put you heads (and tails!) above the average pet owner in being able to care for your dog/cat!
