I will definitely be more diligent about obedience. That’s really easy to say, but every time I turn around someone is going to get coffee, or going to the coffee shop, has been there or is talking about coffee. Everywhere I go someone is talking about coffee. When I pray ‘Thy kingdom come, thy will be done,’ It doesn’t mean it will be an easy road. Have you ever wished this life following the Lord was easier? I have. I have wished that it didn’t involve pain or discomfort. I have wished it could be a beach enterprise instead of feeling like a freight service. The truth is that we do stumble, we do make mistakes, and we do experience heartaches. God cannot move the shelves of our life around and heal us, if we’re not willing to look in the mirror and see our true selves. And why would he bring healing if we’re not willing to follow his instructions? How can I ask for his blessing of healing and disregard how he asks me to do it? I would go back to one of my favorite songs and say “Who am I that the Lord of earth would care to know my name?” Praise the Lord that I gave my life to Jesus! He’s my new morning foundation. He gave me another chance to live and breathe. I stand in awe of his grace for me. By faith, his undeserved favor gives me permission to go running back to God. Instead entering through the doggy door, I can enter into the very presence of God. He’s the one of catches me when I’m falling and reminds me that I belong to him. That’s not at all because of what I’ve done or who I am, but because of what he’s done. The Lord rescues the godly; he is their fortress in times of trouble. The Lord helps them, rescuing them from the wicked. He saves them, and they find shelter in him. Psalm 37:39-40
