I will never forget when this song could be heard in Moscow, in - TopicsExpress

I will never forget when this song could be heard in Moscow, in the Red Square, right near the walls of Kremlin, in the place that was, for all the European Eastern Block, the seat of tyranny, of inhumane oppression. I was watching the concert on TV. It was history in the making. I thought the Cold War is over. I thought that the tyranny is forever gone from the face of this Earth. Now, quarter of a century away from the fall of the Berlin Wall, I know that then, in that moment, the real fight for freedom started. We have not gained our freedom yet. We just won our right to fight for our freedom, and the war is still ahead, no matter the fights that were so far. When the Berlin Wall crumbled, it let the hope of freedom in, but also let the darkness of tyranny out, to roam the Earth. This the war that has to be fought. It is not the last, it is not the first. But it is a war, nonetheless.
