I will not stand for President Obama’s use of executive authority to skirt existing laws. The President’s plan to act on his own regarding immigration is not how democracy works. He even said so himself in an interview with Noticias Telemundo on September 17, 2013 saying, ‘There is a path to get this done and that is through Congress.’ His unilateral action is a quick fix that will set back the American peoples goal to move forward with effective and accountable solutions. What we need is a common-sense solution that focuses on border security, enforcing existing laws, and streamlining the legal immigration process. I will continue to fight for immigration reforms that support those three key ideas.
