I wish Eddie Izzard hadnt sold out, he used to be a great - TopicsExpress

I wish Eddie Izzard hadnt sold out, he used to be a great political comedian, now hes as corrupted by the establisment as the worst of them, he might as well stand for Ukip as Labour. Hes supporting the same agenda. its heart breaking to see your Heroes turn to mainstream politics. Brand may be many things but he refuses to join this broken political system. For that and his bravery, not to be silenced I respect him. Izzard has lost his conviction and creadibility along with it. You might be wondering what this has to do with Scottish independence? Both Izzard and Brand were actively involved. Brand spoke eloquently for Indy, Izzard campaigned against, surprisingly lacking his usual brilliant insights but relying on the kind of trite slogans that he usually rails against. I went to see Eddie about six months or so before the referendum, at a small venue in Mussleburgh (The Brunton, last minute gig). At that gig he said he wanted us to stay together but respected our right to choose. He was met by stony silence from a very loyal audience, you could hear a pin drop! As the grumbling started, he quickly changed the subject, unusual for him as he would normally ask questions from the audience, we let it pass, it was a great gig. At the time we thought the intamacy of the venue put him off going even further over time as wed never get to the set. They both have world wide influence, Izzard, more than Brand. He said he wanted us to stay but respected our choice, however it went. What happened in those intervening 6 months that broke his respect for us? Apart from deciding to run for Mayor of London on a Labour ticket in 2020? https://shamocracy.org/2014/12/08/hatred-russell-brand-irrelevant/
