I wish I could have been there. It needs to be explained that this whole region has been mined and forested for over 150 years. For thousands of years prior to that the aborigines burnt much of the area at regular intervals so as to gain access to many of the enclosed areas. There is no chance of this country being raped and pillaged into desert. It is in a rainfall zone ranging from 1000mm to 2500mm or more and the myth that it is under threat needs to be explained. This area has a range of minerals that are accessible and many areas of sustainable regrowth forests. These pretentious environmentalists would be better used by their guilt ridden big end of town highly paid professionals who are masters of exploitation.
