I wish human beings were kinder to each other. I have this theory, Facebook, that a lot of mental illness (the depressions and the anxieties and the obsessions), are a result of people not showing enough kindness to those around them. We are all too busy being busy, to waste our time being kind to a stranger. Yet that small act of kindness could make a tremendous difference to someone who feels alone or frightened or distressed. I would like to live in an era where gentlemen tipped their hats, and people said "cheerio" and we just .... cared more about one another.
