I wish more parents would read the articles published by John Rosemond which usually appears under Dear Abby every Sunday. Its not rocket science, you are the parent, they are your child (ren), you as the parent are OR should be in control. You should not have to ASK you child to cooperate, by doing so, you are giving them a choice and most likely not getting the outcome you wanted in the first place. You are NOT doing you child any favors, as that is NOT how real life works. Im 46 yrs old and have a 17 y old and raised her the same way I was, and I am very proud of her when people compliment me on how well behaved and respectful she is to everyone she comes on contact with. I can only thank my mom and dad for raising me the way they did and led by example. Im sure my daughter will raise her children in the same manner. Okay, my rant for the day is over.
