I wish that 3 of my friends were here, Robert Wilson, Brent Johnson and David Patrick Dawe Slaughter. Bob is probably the best off road driver Ive even known, and a truck driver. Preacher, we, I just dont know. And Dave drives big trucks. So here I was, going down a mud covered logging trail, down a 20% grade, I round a hairpin curve and in front of me the road is closed, A RGN spun out and they had to unload the track hoe right there. The road was closed for about 30 minutes. The driving here is not really dangerous, not really, as long as you dont look over the edge. Dont drive off the edge and youll be OK. Drive off the edge and it is often a LONG way down. These roads scared the hell out of me when I first started driving them. Now it is not big deal, sorta. I brought the Avalanche down today, but recommended against bring the Kenworth tanker down until tomorrow. After this truck lost it, and this slope is greasy, perhaps waiting a day is best. Tomorrow we bring everything down the hill from the 16 km marker. This is a radio controlled road, it is East Anderson, 16 km above Boston Bar, British Columbia, Canada. The road freq for East Anderson is 152.960, you call out every kilometer if you are going up or down, and if someone is going the other way, someone has to find a wide spot. There is no room to pass most of the road. It is something that should be on Reality TV. Bob, Preacher, and Dave could really appreciate these roads. Not to mention the bears. Really, black bears. Another story for later.
