I witnessed a beautiful story today. A little girl named Mikayla - TopicsExpress

I witnessed a beautiful story today. A little girl named Mikayla with her little sister Brianna (I believe that is what they said their names were), they were walking our neighborhood with a Kroger grocery bag in Mikaylas hands and a small pumpkin in Briannas hands. They were trying to sell some small personal trinket things. I thought it was weird but I told them no thank you, their faces went quite long. She said we walked the whole neighborhood and we didnt sell anything, then they turned and walked down the drive. When they reached the end of the drive I asked their names and what they were trying to earn money for, she said you know the little girl across the street? I said I do, and Mikayla proceeded to tell me that the little girl wanted to buy an American Girl doll and she was trying to help her get enough money. My heart BROKE! She walked down to the end of the street and still no one bought her things. I ran to my car and grabbed all the cash I had, all $13, LOL. I called to the girls, and they came back, I told her how very proud I was of her and how selfless she was for helping her friend buy what she wanted. I hugged her and her sister so tight and couldnt tell them enough how kind and sweet they both are for doing that. 10 minutes later the neighbor girl comes home and Mikayla runs back down the street, I watched her hand the little girl the money I gave her and said something about how that was for her and the doll she wanted to purchase. I started crying all over again, this country may have a good future ahead of us yet! If that doesnt warm your heart I dont know what will. I pray my heart is always open and willing to give and love!
