I witnessed a pretty bad bike accident at the lake today. I had to pour peroxide on myself after the paramedics came, to clean off the blood stains from my arms and shirt. It took three of us to calm the guy down a bit, and finally keep him from getting up, he was so out of it, and in so much pain. He was going downhill, hit the pothole, his front wheel came off, they found it later all the way by the water.. no helmet on, planted on concrete, head first, left side. He will likely need a plastic surgeon, and his left ear has to be sawn back on. He had a short-term memory loss, I hope only temporarily.. At least he remembered his name. Some wrap up for a Monday, I must say. Be careful, however recreational your rides are. ALWAYS wear your helmet, watch where you are going, and check your bike regularly to make sure the wheels are not falling off, or anything else.
