I witnessed something very interesting this weekend. Its strange, the affect a change of venue can have on a groups culture. Two weeks ago when we were worshiping in the Community Center folks showed up for Church wearing jeans and t-shirts. This Sunday in the new Church Building I saw more ties and jackets and ladies with fancy hair dos than in the last five years. There was a sub-conscientious paradigm shift. No one on the ministry team said anything to the congregation like, Make sure you wear your Sunday best next week.. BUT it happened anyway. We are still a come as you are ministry that is intentional about NOT being Churchy. But every now and then, you have a special occasion and people respond by dressing up.
