I woke to an emergency with one of our puppies this morning. Ink had managed to get himself wedged and pinned in the opening between the gate and post of the barn (the crack where the hinges are for the gate to swing open and closed). I took him right in to our vet once we were able to free him from his entrapment. Structurally everything is in place, but he is very swollen and unable to walk well, besides being completely exhausted and stressed. He was caught at his hips (around his flank) so he is very swollen around his belly and his sheath is swollen as well. He is having difficulty urinating and has a risk of pneumonia setting in from his head being in the mud (it rained all night) and his back end being higher than his front. He was scheduled to go home on Wednesday, which he cannot do at this point. Please keep him in your thoughts as he heals!
