I woke up crying this morning, knowing that well be bidding Betty Mahalik farewell this afternoon. Letting go isnt always easy for me. During years that I wasnt happy with myself, when I was in professions that called for me to be tough and I took it above and beyond that, I always felt I couldnt be too bad because Betty was my friend and loved me. She was the goodness I needed in my life to remind me what it looked like and how much I wanted it. So many people want to say we have to laugh because thats what Betty always did, and I know well be celebrating her life to day, well even be wearing bright colors for her…I respect and honor that. But also, I ask that those of us who cleanse and heal through tears are allowed to do that with the same understanding. So Ill continue to listen to this song that has a message of hope and makes me cry. I love you, Betty.
