I woke up this morning and as I opened my eyes I took a few moments to realize some things and due to all of us being so busy and caught up in lifes drama...I thought I would share with you. First.. Although my phone told me it was 34 degrees outside I was in a warm bed beside a loving husband with a roof over my head.... The lady on the corner of the street yesterday in the pouring rain holding a sign When I was on my way to Georgetown could not. Second... There were messages on my phone ..texts... FB messages and comments of many people who have chosen to be in my life through business.. Family..and social media... People reaching out because they needed me or cared about me... The gentleman wrapped in the blanket trying to stay warm on the bench at the bus stop with his acquired shopping cart of all his earthly possessions did not have this... He only had himself to talk to...lost in whatever had put him in that situation. Third... I have dreams and goals that I have been meeting one by one slowly for the last 10 years... Building a better life..a more stable and profitable income.. Doing something I love and able to help so many in my path through my own journey...raising people UP instead of stepping on their necks aNd keeping them down... Showing them that you can recover from the WORST things thAt have happened in your life .. IF YOU CHOOSE TO!!!! Yet the young lady at Georgetown Cancer Center sitting Across from me yesterday... Could only concentrate on whether her next chemo treatment would give her some more precious time with her kids.... I share this because as we think thAt things that happen to us are the WORST..there is always a WORSE situation out there..the deal is.. Its not always slapping us in the face... yesterday it slapped me as the week before was a very trying week for me..and I found myself feeling sorry for me..never getting a break... Then God and Life showed me the lady crying on the street corner... The old man at the bus stop and the lady at the hospital who wasnt winning her cancer battle... Oh my friends....when you say WHY ME? I implore you to say.. WHY NOT ME.? What makes us so special that we couldnt be where they are?? There are hardships we all need to open our eyes to and realize... Those little things like heat..people who irritate us...and the health we have..are NOT things we should take for granted...Go forth in a thankful spirit..and TOUCH lives and celebrate that you are still IN IT!!! Still here.. And that you can still make a difference!
