I woke up with this little ditty playing in my head. Now its in yours (if you were brave enough to click on the link)... Its a yucky day for driving here in the Garden State, but in just a few hundred miles well be out of the soup and into some warmer weather. That is, if the folks who posted the weather forecast for the I-95 corridor are correct. Were off in just a few minutes to spend five short weeks (give or take a few days) in the warmth of the Sunshine State. Checking the weather this morning before we head out reminds me of helicopter flight training a few years ago. Plan your flight, check the weather along your planned route, plan for contingencies, fly your plan. And make sure your wife has her contacts in the correct eyes. Okay, that last step is one that I added. Not sure if you remember, but our last trip down culminated with my bride describing all the road signs - including speed limit signs - being fuzzy. And her depth perception was off. Way off. So much so that I kept slamming my foot down on the imaginary brake pedal on the passenger side of the vehicle compartment (one time I swear I almost broke my ankle). And screaming, Youre too close! as we came up on cars travelling a slighter slower pace than Mrs. Mario Andretti (I mean, Mrs. Rusty Williams) was travelling. > > > Okay, I just got the confirmation from Senior Management that the contacts are indeed in the correct eyes. And were off! Heres wishing everyone a day where we take time to notice the signs along the way of whatever journey we find ourselves on. And we enjoy the ride :)
