I wonder how many people know that the whole immigration narrative on the right is being driven by the right wing think tank, the Heritage Foundation, and that the immigration report that they rely on was written by a White supremeacist? Of course they dont make those facts known, because most people who call themselves conservatives arent racist. So the Heritage foundation frames it in other ways that make it more appealing to constituants of the politicians that carry their message forward. They frame it in ways that make immigrants seem dirty and scary and lazy, and that they are taking jobs and money away from good, white, hard working Americans. But the truth is, although most Conservaties arent racist, the people driving the anit-immigration reform movement are racist. I wish more people understood and believed this.
