I wonder how she would take it if she was told she is - TopicsExpress

I wonder how she would take it if she was told she is participating in thin mans burden... Weight loss at all costs is not the answer. This show is despicable and the fact that it is being used as a platform for this is hideous. Shame and public humiliation (ie, hate and discrimination) are being legitimizing based on a skewed idea of looks = health. Looks and weight do not determine health, especially in children. It is so easy to bully children, hurt them, add the sort of stress to their lives which WILL make them unhealthy, and set them up for patterns of disordered eating, exercising, or mental health issues for the rest of their lives. All it takes are a few well placed words, and you can ruin a childs sense of well-being. Once gone, children dont really get that back. I should know. I was bullied into weight gain by being a tall child who was told I was fat. This is the wrong way to go. Please sign this petition and make sure that if our government begins to campaign against health issues, the first one it takes on is socially-induced stress.
