I wonder if aliens ever came to visit and observed our holidays, they might mistake New Years Day with some type of harvest worship day. Because all of the salad being bought on that day. Or maybe a national starving where we gather in our fitness temples lifting heavy metals to heavens and bringing them back down to earth again and again, ritualistically repeating a sequence of numbers to our fitness gods. Running nowhere for miles, swimming in water we cant drink, contorting our bodies in formation with a group of fellow pilgrims, and climbing endless stairs. This, of course, only goes on for a week or two and the devotees slowly disappear and all is left is those damn fanatics and (in alien perspective, because statistics) their hardened, unusual bodies. Those aliens have a lot to learn.
