I wonder if peoples desire to post and share online on places like twitter, Linkedin, and Facebook has less to do with fame and their 15 minutes (which some believe), and more with an urge to have a oneness with everyone else in the world. Does being social make us feel more connected with ourselves? If it were possible to connect with animals other than humans, and also plants, and nonliving things too, would people want this? Would it make us more comfortable with ourselves and the great input we have as a singularity in a huge world, or would it make us realize our smallness in the world? There is something to be said with our desire to empathize, understand, and communicate our thoughts with others. If we could do this with things too, what would this do to us? What does this say about us? If we take this to an extreme, where we connect with everything at some point, does this mean that sociology and psychology become one, at some point? The more separated we are from people, do we loose track with ourselves, or do we start to understand ourselves better? I wonder if the idea of fame is just hiding a larger desire to connect with everything.
