I wonder if these council members know whats its like to transfer a patient under CPR in the back of an ambulance with just 2 people? One person to attempt to intubate the patient or bag them one to try and start an IV to give medications that are life saving (can only be done by a medic), someone to do chest compressions (kind of important in a CPR), someone to help suction the patient cuz they are typically vomiting and can aspirate, and then pray to God that the patient doesnt start seizing or become combative from being altered because someone needs to call into the ER to let them know this critical patient is coming in so they can get everything set up before they arrive to provide better patient care, better patient outcome!!!! You think this scenario is a joke???? Ask anyone who works on an ambulance or any ER nurse who receives these patients. Guess what Yuba City.... Your family member may have just lost a set of hands.... Prior to this vote Yuba city always sent in 2 firefighters to assist with CPRs, trauma patients etc.... And the 3rd would drive over and pick them up so they could get back over the river and back into service. Now theres one to help in the ambulance and one to pick up. Thank you Yuba City council members who voted no, you have made our community a scary place to work in medicine!!!!!!!!!!!!
