I wonder why my fellow Nigerians are still marveling at the current devastating and embarrassing situation of this 53 years old country, when a prophet and a writer Prof. Chinua Achebe have already foretold the future of this country before his demise, he wrote in the last book he wrote before is death titled There was a country and i quote "Nigeria was given her freedom 'on a platter of gold.' We should have known that freedom should be won, not given on a plate. Like the head of John the Baptist." This gift to Nigeria proved most unlucky because he found that the independence Nigeria was supposed to have won as a country was totally without content.. I still strongly believe that before this great country can boast of any meaningful achievement and development the great fight that we were supposed to have fought 53 years ago before independence which i believe is still pending must be fought and transformed into a revolution, until then this great country will continue to remain in the state of a pitiable dismal bizmal and still continue to thrive below the standards of economic, political and democratic mediocrity. #
