I wont boast in my raising up my child because God knows I am lacking in this area, but I am not ashamed to boast in my God. Tonight Cyrus and I were reading the teenie weenie true king samuel anoints david from 1 Samuel 16. When I get to the part where God says youre thinking about what he looks like on the outside. Cyrus busts out with man looks on the outward appearance, but God looks on the heart and then says but mommy I dont remember the numbers. Hello I didnt even know he knew the vs and then I remembered his picture from church was for that vs. he told me the story of David and I reminded him it was in 1 Samuel and he said 16:7. I was pleased and told him how God is answering our nightly prayers. We pray every night that God will give Cyrus a desire to know His word and to store it in his heart and mind and that he will be obedient to it. I told Him how happy it makes God when we learn His word and treasure it. And I took a little creative freedom and told him God and Jesus were high fiving and excited by the fact that Cyrus knew the vs. it seemed the best way to convey God being pleased. Cyrus was so happy and excited the moment was so sweet that I made him tell me again so I could video it (though in the first taping he said the address wrong bc I originally told him it was 16:17, oops) and he wanted to send this to nana. Really how blessed am I that God allows me to see His hand at work daily...this fact blows my mind.
