I wont go into a great amount of detail but here is the story in a nutshell. About two weeks ago, I was getting sick. High fever,, shivering and almost convulsions.. Stephanie got worried and the doctor came in and made a house call. In less than 5 min. he had it diagnosed that I had an infection even though there were no external signs of it yet. He called an ambulance and he had me sent to a hospital. By the time I got to the hospital my left leg was bright red and swollen and burning. They began treatment right away with antibiotics. After a day or two we were able to break the fever, but it took about five days for the antibiotics to kick in and hit the infection. During that first week while we waited for the antibiotics to do their work it was discovered that the apartment we are living in is not suitable for my needs and that I needed far too much care for Stephanie to do alone. The result of this is that by law they cannot send me home. So, social services is now getting involved, the occupational therapists are involved (and here in the UK they have more power than social workers) and physiotherapists are now involved as well. So, Im healing really well but I am stuck in the hospital and they will not let me go home until they find the new accommodations for Stephanie and me that is equipped with everything I need which I am told includes, a new power wheelchair, and automate lift – hoist, full access to and accessible bathroom and shower, and nursing care in place to come in to the home and assist my medical needs. In the meantime,, we have little to no income and we are struggling to pay our rent and other bills. This is of concern as well. Stephanie still has not been given her British passport,, so our immigration lawyer has taken charge and Stephanie has to go to Birmingham tomorrow to sign some documents. Our lawyer is not charging us any extra.. In fact, we have a brand-new 36 inch flat screen high definition television that our lawyer gave to us as a gift.it is really difficult to keep things in order when you are sick and you cannot do anything or go anywhere. Stephanie has now gotten sick, probably because she is tired out and stressed.. I was lucky with my infection to because it did not break the skin even though it did come close. Anyway, that is why I have not been in contact or on the Internet,, I am still in hospital. I was lucky to get on today because Stephanies relatives smuggled in my computer and I was able to get a satellite link to access the Internet. I am feeling well now. Dont worry. Everything will work out just fine.
